Crafting Adventures

I have been saying since I started knitting this sweater that when I was finished it would be spring and I would wear it while sitting on my balcony eating fruit and reading a book.
I finished it Friday. On Saturday my mother brought me a pineapple (and some other groceries because she is an amazing mother). On Sunday spring arrived.
Tomorrow I will sit on my balcony wearing this sweater and I will eat pine apple while reading a book.

All it needs is some sleeves.

Drop stitch always seems weird to me because I knit all of these stitches and then intentionally drop the stitch and undo them all.
But it’s so pretty and it’s growing and I can’t wait to wear this. While eating fruit and reading a book on my balcony.
When spring comes.
Which had better be soon.

I can finally post this and that’s so exciting!
I made this Hobbit House as a birthday present about a month ago, and I thought it was so cute and I learned to do duplicate stitch to make the door and windows which was super exciting but I didn’t want the friend I made it for to see it before it was time.
But now she has it so I can post it and show the world that not only am I apparently pretty decent at duplicate stitch, I’m also smart enough to use a button as a door knob.
Because buttons are magical.

Today was a good day. I decided that the mint chocolate candle, homemade cookies on my owl plate, and more knitting would make it even better.
I still love this yarn. It’s like magic.

It’s done! And it’s not gigantic!

I don’t understand how you aren’t pulling at this all day.

Keep in mind, I’ve only worn it once. I’m sure I will end up pulling at it. I pull at every other piece of clothing I wear, haha.

I have loved this yarn for so long. Every time I went to the yarn section I would see it and promise that I was still looking for the perfect pattern for it.
About a month ago, a copy of Interweave showed up in my mailbox. It had my name on it, so it was definitely mine, but I don’t have a subscription and I hadn’t filled out one of those free trial things in month and months. I have no idea why they sent it to me but they did, and inside was Gyre Cardigan by Norah Gaughan. It was the project this yarn was made for. I am going to knit it and wear it while I sit on my balcony with a book and a bowl of fruit and it will be beautiful.
Even in the sunlight the camera can’t accurately capture the colour. Just trust me, it is the most beautiful green I have ever seen and it is so so soft.
